I
n the heart of Venice, near the Church of Santa Maria della Consolazione, also known as “Santa Maria Della Fava”, you can find the restaurant “Da Mario alla Fava” which takes its name from the famous church. The restaurant opened its doors to the first customers in 1960, when Mario Bonavita decided to fulfill his dream: opening a restaurant, a cozy place to rediscover the true
Venetian cuisine, since other restaurants had abandoned it, journalists did not mention it and foreign restaurateurs and cooks had been ignoring it. Its friendly atmosphere and the excellent quality of its dishes made “Da Mario alla Fava” one of the most renowned restaurants in Venice in a short time. This family run restaurant and all the secretes that have helped to make it popular over the years
have been inherited by Guido and Luca, who work today with the same passion of their father. Guido and Luca, the first “judges” of their business, are constantly looking for quality products, to satisfy the palate of their customers. A detail-attentive high quality service, a friendly environment, dishes and wines inspired by ancient flavours of fine Venetian cuisine, are the main ingredients of their success.
Over the years, several events have marked the history of Italy and ours. After 55 years,
the restaurant “Da Mario alla Fava” grew despite the difficulties, improving its ability to offer its customers quality,
dedication and love for the food, which are the strengths that still characterise it...

At “Da Mario alla Fava” restaurant you can always find high quality, carefully selected products.
The whole process starts with the search of the ingredients used, such as oil, fish, chocolate and so on.
Guido and Luca, aware of the responsibility they have towards their customers, know that quality means to fully satisfy their desires,
and this includes the products, the service and the atmosphere, and also a nice smile.
A good restaurant is not just about good food, but is also about good hospitality and the ability to meet the diverse needs of its customers, combining taste and skills to provoke emotions. This is what Guido and Luca try to do together with their staff, creating tasting dishes included in some special menus, such as the half portion menu...
